Anyone and everyone! The competition is open to photographers of all ages and experience levels, from complete beginners to experienced photographers. You don’t need any previous photography experience or professional equipment to take part — a camera or smartphone is all you need. Entries are welcome from anywhere in the world, as long as the photograph submitted captures Antrim and Newtownabbey.

Parental consent will be needed for entrants under the age of 18 at point of entry.

Anything that captures the borough's natural and built heritage, including its landscapes, buildings, coastline, parks, wildlife, streets and hidden corners. Photos should have been taken within Antrim and Newtownabbey's boundaries.

Submit your photo(s) via the entry form. You'll be asked for your name, contact details, the photo's location, a short caption, and to confirm you own the image and agree to the entry terms.

No, entry is free.

You can submit up to 5 photos per entry, per season. Photographers are welcome to enter again in a later seasonal window with new images of the same or different locations

Selected photography entries will be exhibited, with credit and captions, at the Antrim Garden Show 2027 with coverage on the Belfast Photo Festival social media.

Entries are reviewed and shortlisted by a diverse panel including qualified photography professionals from Belfast Photo Festival, assessed against relevance to the theme, technical quality and creativity. Shortlisted images may be exhibited publicly and included in the project's photographic archive.

By entering, you grant Belfast Photo Festival and Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council permission to use your image for the purposes of the competition, exhibitions, and related promotional and archival use. You retain copyright of your image. Full terms snd conditions here.

The competition runs until midnight Sunday 4th April  2027.

Selected images will be shown at outdoor exhibitions at Antrim Castle Gardens and Mossley Mill, and shared across Belfast Photo Festival and Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council social media channels.
