A Year of Photography. Four Seasons. One Borough.

Exploring Antrim and Newtownabbey is a year round photographic project unfolding across the four seasons through professional commissions and a public photography competition. Inspired by photographers Evanna Devine, Nuala Kerrigan, Conn McCarrick and Joe Laverty, the project invites members of the public to explore and share their own view of the Borough, covering natural and built heritage locations, landscapes, people and everyday places.

Two men standing outdoors near a fence, one holding a lamb and a kid goat in his arms, with a landscape of trees, houses, and fields in the background on a sunny day.
A historic stone castle with turrets and a large central door, surrounded by green trees and grass under a partly cloudy sky.
A lakeside park with benches, trees, and a view of the water and distant shoreline on a sunny day.

Every season reveals something new. All you have to do is look.

A tall, stone chimney is centered in a park-like setting surrounded by autumn-colored trees with orange, yellow, and green leaves, and a clear blue sky overhead.
HOW IT WORKS
A scenic view of a city park with a wooden walkway, lush green trees, a river pond, and a tall brick chimney in the background against a clear blue sky.

Residents and visitors are invited to submit their own photographs of Antrim and Newtownabbey’s landscapes, heritage and built environment.

Selected photographs will be exhibited at Antrim Castle Gardens’ Home and Garden Show Ireland 2027, giving photographers the opportunity to share their work with thousands of visitors and an audience of more than 30,000 Belfast Photo Festival followers across social media.
